The Digital Lending Right (DLR): everything you need to know and how it affects you!
The Australian Society of Authors presents this free online information session on their Digital Lending Right advocacy campaign.
The ASA successfully campaigned for PLR (Public Lending Right) and ELR (Education Lending Rights), a payment scheme which compensates book creators for their loss of royalties when their books are made freely available to borrow from public or educational lending libraries. However, the schemes do not apply to digital formats – ebooks and audiobooks – even while loans of ebooks and audiobooks are increasing, particularly during the pandemic.
Join their free information session on our Digital Lending Right campaign (DLR) so that you can learn:
- What DLR is
- Why DLR is important
- How achieving DLR will impact you
- Where we’re up to with our advocacy for DLR, and what this means for you
