“The Copyright Agency’s Author Fellowship was a real life saver. It allowed me to focus purely on this difficult and ambitious novel and to dedicate my body and soul to creating a work of real excellence. I cannot thank the Copyright Agency enough.”
– Melissa Lucashenko, recipient of the 2016 Author Fellowship and winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2019
The Copyright Agency offers Fellowships for Australian writers to create significant new works.
Year-long Fellowships are intrinsically important to Australian creative writers as it buys them time to create new work.
For 2024, two $80,000 Fellowships are available for Australian writers who have achieved some success and critical acclaim with their writing and who have a publisher interested in publishing the intended work.
“We’re really pleased to be able to offer even more support for our members who work so hard to make Australia a creative nation as part of a broader aspiration to be a nation of thinkers.” Kim Williams, (former) Chair, Copyright Agency
