Arthur Baker has been engaged in educational publishing for 27 years, having commenced his career in January 1994 as a Secondary sales representative at Pearson (then Longman Cheshire). He has worked in multiple markets and held a number of roles in School Sales and Marketing, Operations and General Management at Pearson, and more recently at Oxford University Press (OUP).
As Managing Director for OUP ANZ & Pacific, Baker supports a broad based business with business units focused on Primary, Secondary, Higher Education, ELT and Trade publishing. A strong advocate of broader industry engagement, Baker has been a member of the Australian Publishers Association’s Schools and Educational Publishers Committee (SEPC), the CAL sponsored Learning Field Steering Committee and more recently the Fair Dealing Committee.
