In its annual Honouring Australian Writers series, the NSW Writers’ Centre pays tribute to writers who have made an important contribution to our literary culture.
This year they honour Jessica Anderson (1916 – 2010), the author of two Miles Franklin Award-winning novels, Tirra Lirra by the River and The Impersonators, which also won the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction. Her body of work includes seven published novels, an award-winning short story collection, and numerous radio plays.
Speakers will include authors Anna Funder (Stasiland) and Michelle de Kretser (Questions of Travel), literary critic Geordie Williamson, as well as Jessica Anderson’s daughter, screenwriter Laura Jones, and Pip Smith (Half Wild).
