Hearts, Minds, Stories: Landscapes of Learning
June 27, 2022
Having been impacted by COVID-19 for the last two years, Reading Australia is looking forward to attending this year’s joint Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE) and Australian Literacy Educators’ Association (ALEA) National Conference in Darwin (7–10 July).
Come and visit the Reading Australia Booth (#17) in the exhibition hall to find out more about our 260 curriculum-linked freely-available resources for the teaching of Australian literature in the classroom. Plus, you’ll discover which new resources will become available in the coming months!
Copyright Agency’s Nicola Evans, Head of the Cultural Fund and Reading Australia, will announce the 2022 Reading Australia Fellow for Teachers of English and Literacy at the conference.
This session will also feature our three other Reading Australia Fellows, together for the first time, to discuss their Fellowship projects and findings to date.
Alex Wharton, (Carinya Christian School), Karen Yager (Hills Grammar School) and Edwina West (Oakhill College) will discuss the impact of their activities on the discipline of English and literacy teaching, and share some advice for other teachers interested in applying for the Fellowship.
You can watch the panel – A lifelong love of literature: Experiences and findings from Reading Australia Fellows – from 12pm on Saturday 9 July.
The AATE/ALEA National Teacher’s Conference is supported by the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund.
