Licensee update: COVID-19
April 14, 2020
Dear Licensees,
As you know, the rapid spread of COVID-19 has led to WHO declaring it a global pandemic. I hope that you, your family and loved ones are doing as best as possible under the circumstances.
I wanted to let you know that Copyright Agency has taken steps to reduce risk to customers, members and employees and to minimise disruption to our business operations.
The steps we have taken have been developed based on advice from relevant authorities and in consultation with our internal work health and safety team to ensure the safety of our employees. Like you, we are constantly reviewing our approach.
Our office is now closed (at least physically!) and our employees utilise our established flexible working arrangements and work remotely.
We want to ensure you that despite these changes, we remain available to help you with any queries you might have. Feel free to contact your licensing consultant at their usual email addresses and phone numbers, as indicated here.
We have also announced a full program of support for writers, visual artists and publishers in the face of the severe challenges they face as a result of COVID-19.
Under this program, Copyright Agency will provide an additional $375,000 in grants to creators, as well as bringing forward to the first quarter of next financial year the forecasted annual $1.8 million of grants under the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund. You can read the full announcement here.
Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time and I sincerely hope you remain safe and well.
Best wishes,
Adam Suckling
Copyright Agency CEO
