Annual Report 2018-19 released at AGM

Copyright Agency has issued its 2018-19 Annual Report at its AGM held in Sydney on 20 November 2019.
The report provides the audited financial results of the company and reports on achievements in the last financial year.
2018-19 was a strong year with many gains for our members. Highlights include:
- Strong financial results
We generated revenue of around $150m and paid $116m to members - Licensing agreements
We secured a substantial number of new licensing agreements, including a valuable four-year licence with the schools’ sector, thousands of colleges and businesses, and a bespoke licence with fashion label Gorman - Operational efficiency & investment in new systems
We continued to upgrade to modern cloud-based systems which will make members’ experience of being paid, better and more efficient - Policy advocacy
We advocated in Canberra for policy settings that support copyright fairness, creativity and innovation - Support for Australian creativity
Our Cultural Fund supported 75 projects via Fellowships, sponsorships and grants - Legal representation
We launched or continued necessary legal actions to ensure fair payment for the use of our members’ work in the future, in relation to the rate paid by Australia’s 39 universities, the NSW Government and media monitoring organisations
Board changes
The AGM also saw the formalisation of changes to the Board. Three directors – Lucrezia Russell, Anthony Bertini and Chris Pash – have finalised their terms and we welcome two new directors: Anne Maria Nicholson (ASA director) and Cath Godfrey (APA director). Read more.
