On 12 December, the Government published the report from the Review to Inform a Better and Fairer Education System: see here. The review will inform negotiations for the 2024 Education Reform and Funding Agreement.
You can see:
- Summary Report here
- Expert Panel’s Report here
- Commissioned research ‘Review of Policy Interventions to Increase Socio-Economic Diversity and Improve Learning Outcomes’ here
- Education Ministers Meeting Statement here
- Public submissions to the Consultation Paper here
Submissions included those from the Australian Publishers Association (here), National Association for the Visual Arts (here) and Copyright Agency (here).
The report’s recommendations include ‘support for schools and teachers to teach the curriculum, including by improving access to high-quality resources’. The education statutory licence scheme can contribute to this goal, as it allows teachers to copy and share resources, from a vast range of sources, with minimal compliance requirements.
