Copyright Agency pays more than $70m to creators this month
June 30, 2021
During June 2021, Copyright Agency distributed more than $70 million of payments from ten different licence sources, making it its biggest payment month of the year.
Thousands of creator and publisher members received payments from schools, universities, TAFEs, as well as individually licenced educational institutions, and commercial and government sectors. Distributions were also made to writers and artists under the Royalty Claim, many of whom received a payment for the first time.
The payments were made through Copyright Agency’s newly built systems and accessed via the recently upgraded Member Portal. Our Member Services team responded to around 1,500 queries, but most members accessed the information they needed through the Member Portal, with more than 12,000 sessions on the site over the past week alone.
Members also found the help they need with new articles on our Help Centre reaching more than 3,700 views.
As always, the Member Services team are here to help you understand your payments. Search our Help Centre or chat online for assistance.
If you aren’t a member but would like to join, you can apply for membership online.
