A life-changing Byron writers panel

July 4, 2017

Authors Tracey Spicer and Barry Jones and former Fairfax book editor, Susan Wyndham, will be interviewed by Copyright Agency CEO Adam Suckling on the books that changed their lives at the Byron Writers Festival on Saturday 5 August.

Visitors to the festival, from 4-6 August, will be able to bring along their life-changing book – or just their recollections – to the Copyright Agency’s video and photo tent, where their story will be filmed for use on www.changedmylife.com.au

As we all know, books, songs, art and much more, can be life-changing. The campaign asks readers and consumers of creative products to think about why they like to read or listen to music or see or create art – because it is so often life-changing. With the importance of copyright at the core of the message, the campaign asks you to do four things:

  •  show your respect for creators by paying for the books, songs and other art you consume
  •  ask permission before reproducing someone else’s work
  •  always attributing people in your creations, and
  •  let others know that this is important to you by making the pledge on your Facebook page

To take part in the online campaign, visit This Book Changed My Life and make a pledge to #respectcreators. You can also use the other campaign hashtags: #freeisnotfair and #poweredbycopyright in your tweets, Instagram or Facebook posts.
